Sumy region
Between the morning of September 23 and the morning of September 24, Russian forces carried out 34 attacks on 19 settlements across 13 communities in Ukraine’s Sumy region, the regional military administration reported.
In the Seredyna-Buda community, two men aged 45 and 49 were injured in an FPV drone strike. In the Vorozhba community, an FPV drone attack killed a 46-year-old man and wounded another man aged 43.
According to the administration, the region was targeted with 10 guided air bombs (GABs), FPV drones, other UAVs, and missile strikes. In Vorozhba, a private house and a car were damaged; in Seredyna-Buda, several private homes were hit. In the Shalyhyne community, a private house was damaged; in the Richky community, a piece of civilian infrastructure was struck; and in the Stepanivka community, another private house sustained damage.
Seventeen residents were evacuated from border communities over the course of the day.
Kherson region
8 people were injured in Ukraine’s Kherson region over the past day as a result of Russian aggression, regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin reported on Telegram.
According to him, Russian forces used drones, airstrikes, and artillery against dozens of settlements, including Sadove, Antonivka, Komyshany, Prydniprovske, Naddnipryanske, Bilozerka, Doslidne, Yantarne, Kizomys, Veletenske, Dniprovske, Novodmytrivka, Chereshenky, Stanislav, Oleksandrivka, Sofiivka, Shyroka Balka, Poniativka, Mykilske, Tokarivka, Beryslav, Zmiivka, Tomaryne, Novoraisk, Kostyrka, Chervonyi Mayak, Novovorontsovka, Shevchenkivka, Osokorivka, Zolota Balka, Novooleksandrivka, Burhunka, Odradokamianka, Lvove, Mykolaivka, Mylove, Respublikanets, Vesele and Kherson itself.
Seven private houses, cell towers, outbuildings, private garages and cars were damaged. Prokudin stressed that eight people were injured by Russian strikes.
Kharkiv region
A massive overnight attack by Russian drones triggered multiple fires and left people injured in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, the State Emergency Service reported. In Kharkiv’s Kholodnohirskyi district, four separate fires broke out, affecting a shop building, an outbuilding and other facilities. Private homes and cars were damaged, and one person was injured.
In the village of Buhaivka, Chuhuiv district, a residential house and outbuildings caught fire. In Chuhuiv itself, fires at two locations damaged a residential building, a garage and cars. Another person was injured.
Donetsk region
On 23 September, Russian forces killed three civilians in Ukraine’s Donetsk region, the regional governor Vadym Filashkin said. Two people were killed in Kostiantynivka and one in Illinivka; another eight residents were injured.
According to Filashkin, Russia’s invasion has so far killed 3,658 people and injured 8,184 in Donetsk region — not including victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha.
Dnipropetrovsk region
Overnight Russian strikes hit two districts of Dnipropetrovsk region Russian forces shelled Nikopol district with heavy artillery and FPV drones, damaging the district centre and Pokrovska community, regional governor Serhiy Lysak said. A five-storey building, cars and a power line were damaged.
After midnight, Russians attacked the Malomykhailivska community in the Synelnykove district with UAVs, sparking a fire. No casualties were reported.
