Russians caused an incident at the fourth unit of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant: a water leak occurred from the first circuit to the second, as reported by "Energoatom."

The day before, the fourth energy unit of the Russian Federation was put into a "hot" state, violating the licenses and conditions of "Energoatom." The water leak occurred due to a breach in the integrity of the third steam generator within the hermetic enclosure of the unit. The occupying authorities began to switch the energy unit to a "cold shutdown." However, there has been no release of radioactive substances into the environment.

Furthermore, over the next three days, the Russians plan to put the sixth energy unit of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant into a "hot" state.

According to the President of the State Enterprise "NNEGC Energoatom," Petro Kotin, the leadership of "Rosatom" is systematically disabling the units of the occupied station. They have already damaged three out of five physical barriers that prevent the spread of radiation and the potential leakage of radioactive water.

On June 22, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Russians are considering a scenario involving a terrorist attack at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant with a radiation release, following reports from the Security Service of Ukraine and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Zelensky, Ukraine has already provided all available information and evidence to partner countries.

The International Atomic Energy Agency reacted to this and assured that during their visit on June 15, they did not detect any explosives in the cooling pond, although the head of Main Directorate of Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, announced the pond's alleged mining on June 20. However, the IAEA acknowledged that the territory "in some areas inside" the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is mined, as well as around the nuclear power plant.
