The Russian army has intensified its offensive actions and assaults in the Verbove area on the Melitopol direction. Ukrainian Armed Forces have engaged in around fifty combat clashes in this sector of the front within a day.

This information was reported by the spokesman for the United Press Center of the Defense Forces of the Tavria direction, Colonel Oleksandr Shtupun, during a television marathon.

"Our commanders on the ground always improve our tactical position at the slightest opportunity. In general, the occupiers here are quite active; they have significantly increased the number of offensive and assault actions. For the second consecutive day, the enemy is conducting around 50 daily combat clashes," he said.

Overall, as the spokesperson noted, Russian occupying forces are active in all sectors of the Tavria direction, but the intensity varies.

Over the week on the Tavria direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces captured 15 Russian soldiers. Also, during the week, the Russian forces carried out a hundred airstrikes in this direction, mostly using guided aviation bombs; most of the shelling occurred in the Donetsk region.
