Russian forces once again struck Ukraine with aerial attacks using kamikaze drones overnight into March 6th. In total, they launched 42 "Shahed" drones into Ukraine, most of which were destroyed by the Defense Forces.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"During the night, Russian forces once again attacked Ukraine using UAVs of the 'Shahed' type. Defense Forces destroyed 38 out of 42 of these drones," the morning briefing from the military command said.

It is noted that information regarding casualties and damage to infrastructure objects is currently being clarified.

For the aerial attack on Ukraine overnight into March 6th, Russians used not only kamikaze drones but also ballistic missiles. This was reported by the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Military officials noted that besides the attack drones, the enemy targeted Ukraine with 5 surface-to-air guided missiles S-300, which were launched from the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk region.

As for the 42 "Shahed" drones, the invaders launched them from four directions: Chauda, Balaklava - Crimea, as well as the Russian regions of Kursk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

The air defense efforts, which resulted in the downing of 38 Russian attack drones, took place in eight regions, namely within the borders of: Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, Kherson, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, Sumy regions.

"Air defense missile units of the Air Forces, mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, and electronic warfare assets were involved in repelling the aerial attack," military officials reported.
