Russians are taking hostage in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine not only Ukrainians but also citizens of other countries.

The russians have captured a number of OSCE SMM members in Donetsk and Lugansk, and the Organization is seeking their release. This was stated by British Deputy Ambassador to the OSCE Deidra Brown.

Regarding the operational situation in Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov said that for the fourth day the occupiers have not released residents who want to leave to Zaporizhzhia. Humanitarian supplies are blocked, and there is no cash in the city.

However, the Melitopol residents do not give up.

"According to our intelligence, a confrontation is taking place, it has turned from a peaceful one into a partisan one, the resistance, as it was strong, remains strong. We will not disclose how this happens. But it happens. As proof, two days ago, some These are messengers who began to reconcile collaborators among themselves because they quarrel among themselves and cannot find the culprit who is leaking information to Ukrainians," Fedorov said.

Russian servicemen in the village of Ruski Tyshky in the Kharkiv region have taken hostage 40-year-old Oleksandr Nosov, a former Ukrainian army officer. The man did not leave the occupied village because of animals he did not want to leave: he took care of 5 dogs of his own and 8 neighbors' cats.

By taking hostages, russian militants grossly violate Articles 3 and 34 of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, Article 9 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and Article 5 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
