The film Female was made using the works of Eva Dzhyshyashvili, Polina Polikarpova, Xenia Petrovska, Iryna Yeroshko, Oksana Parafeniuk, Alina Smutko, Oksana Nevmerzhytska, Olena Shved, Krystyna Sahirova, Yana Kononova, Olena Morozova, Alex Blanco, Natali Agryzkova , Maryna Brodovska, Yulia Kysil, Olga Zarko, Maryna Shtanko, Sofiya Chotyrbok, Liza Gasyuk, Daria Svertilova, Daryna Berdynskykh, Rita Niki, Lia Dostlieva, Olia Koval, Olga Chekaryeva, Didenko Anastasiia, Maryna Masel, Kateryna Doroshyna, Olga Kukush, Svitlana Levchenko and Ira Lupu.
The screening brings together the series of 31 finalists of the Female Ukrainian Photographers 2021 contest conducted by Odesa Photo Days. The artists explore topics such as mental health, corporality, quarantine and pandemic experiences, individual and collective memory, relationships with parents, and more.
Designed as part of the Odesa Photo Days festival, Female aims to give women a voice while offering an overview of photographic creation in Ukraine.
A friendly discussion will follow the viewing of the 50-minute film.
