Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Security Service of Ukraine has uncovered 118 enemy espionage networks.
This was reported in an interview with the We Are Ukraine TV channel by SSU head Vasyl Maliuk.
“When we talk about espionage networks, since the beginning of the war we have uncovered 118 such networks. Among them were those gathering information on the Defense Forces, preparing strikes, and even plotting an assassination of the President. These are networks of various calibers, but each is an organized form of criminal activity directed against the foundations of national security,” he said.
Maliuk recalled that recently the SSU exposed a priest of the UOC-MP who was acting on orders from Russia’s GRU. Four individuals in Odessa were also uncovered for spying on the local port. In addition, they were transmitting data for missile and Shahed drone strikes.
Overall, the SSU has announced 3,500 suspicions of treason. So far, courts have issued more than a thousand verdicts in these cases.
