Since the beginning of the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation, the Security Service of Ukraine has exposed more than 700 people who are suspected of collaborating.

The spokesman of the Security Service of Ukraine, Artem Dekhtyarenko, said this at the briefing of the Security and Defense Forces.

"Since the beginning of the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation, the SSU has exposed more than 700 such persons. And this is precisely according to Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - collaborative activity, which did not exist until March of this year. That is, unlike state traitors, here we are talking about collaborators in their purest form," Artem Dekhtyarenko stressed.

According to him, finding and punishing the accomplices of the Russians is currently one of the main priorities of the SSU: "We work around the clock not only to expose traitors and collaborators, but also to document their crimes in a high quality and, as a result, bring them to justice."

As Dekhtyarenko explained, criminal proceedings against 268 collaborators of the Security Service of Ukraine have already been brought to court, and court decisions have been issued in relation to 53 of them. Investigations in the remaining proceedings are ongoing.

"As an example: the recent verdict against a resident of the Luhansk Region, who passed on information about the units of the Armed Forces defending the region to the representatives of the Russian occupation army. For his help, he wanted money and a position in the occupation administration, and in return, he will spend 12 years in jail," the SSU spokesman added.

In general, as Artyom Dekhtyarenko summarized, the Ukrainian special service has a complete picture of what is happening in the temporarily occupied territories. "Work in this direction continues. We know each collaborator by name, all his personal data, communication circle, and movement routes. The issue of punishing these persons is only a matter of time," the SSU spokesman emphasized.
