South Korean intelligence has announced the detection of North Korea's attempts to send its workers to Russia, violating United Nations Security Council resolutions. Yonhap reports this.
"Since North Korea is attempting to send its workers to Russia, we are closely monitoring the situation," stated the National Intelligence Service of the country.
There are suspicions that North Korea is trying to intensify the illegal dispatch of its workers to Russia due to a shortage of labor resulting from the mobilization of youth for the war against Ukraine.
According to North Korean state media, a Russian delegation led by Oleg Kozhemyako, the governor of Primorsky Krai, arrived at Pyongyang airport on Monday. He was welcomed by North Korean Vice Minister of External Economic Affairs Choe Kyong Su. However, the purpose of the visit has not been disclosed.
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Kremlin has repeatedly appealed to North Korea to provide artillery shells. After some time, North Korea sent over 1 million artillery shells to Russia.
It is worth noting that, according to Andriy Yusev, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, North Korea will not be able to consistently supply Russia in the war against our country.
