The Security Service detained another participant of the FSB's undercover group, which operated in various regions of Ukraine. The criminals adjusted missile strikes on Kyiv, Odessa, as well as in the Zhytomyr and Poltava regions. Two Russian agents were detained as a result of an SSU special operation in March of this year.
Currently, the Ukrainian law enforcement officers have tracked down and detained a third participant of the hostile group in Odessa.
According to the case materials, he 'reported' to the FSB about the consequences of the aggressor's double missile strike on the regional center on March 15 of this year. At that time, the invaders attacked a residential area of the city with two ballistic missiles 'Iskander.' The first one targeted civilian buildings, resulting in numerous casualties among local residents. And when rescuers, emergency workers, and journalists arrived at the scene, the Russian forces launched a second missile at them. After the shelling, the agent surveyed the area near the damaged buildings and covertly recorded the aftermath.
He then sent messenger files to the FSB with his comments, including the approximate number of casualties. Subsequently, the criminal prepared a series of Russian airstrikes on local hospitals, as well as units of the State Border Guard Service, the National Guard, and the State Emergency Service.
However, SSU operatives prevented this and detained the Russian agent at his own residence. He turned out to be a 27-year-old resident of the temporarily occupied Energodar, who moved to Odessa half a year after the city was captured. At the beginning of this year, the displaced person was recruited by a staff member of the FSB department in Moscow and the Moscow region. His identity has already been established by the Security Service. For collaboration with the Russian special services, the traitor received a monetary 'reward,' which was transferred to his bank details.
During searches at the detainee's home, a mobile phone and a bank card with evidence of intelligence and subversive activities were seized.
Currently, the Security Service investigators have informed him of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason committed under conditions of martial law). The perpetrator is in custody. He faces life imprisonment.
