An successful strike was carried out on the Saky military airfield in occupied Crimea by the Security Service of Ukraine.

“The target of the operation was the airfield infrastructure, in particular hangars with fighter jets. Five hits by SSU drones on hangars storing aviation equipment have been confirmed,” the SBU website reported on Wednesday.

According to preliminary information, at the time of the strike there were Su-30 and Su-30SM fighter jets in two hangars. After the attack, a fire was recorded in the hangar where a Su-30SM was located, indicating a successful hit on the target.

“The estimated cost of each such aircraft is between $30 and $50 million, depending on configuration,” the report says.

The SSU noted that the strike was carried out within the 40-day influence operation announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky aimed at forcing the Russian state toward peace.
