Ukraine leads Europe in web development growth, according to StartupBlink.
Ukraine has received the Strongest Web Development Overperformance in Europe award from the global innovation economy platform StartupBlink for the strong performance of its web development ecosystem, which significantly exceeds the country’s overall position in the European startup landscape.
On September 30, the Startup Ecosystem Awards 2026 ceremony recognised ecosystems that demonstrated notable results based on StartupBlink data.
The Startup Ecosystem Awards recognise the performance of startup ecosystems based on the StartupBlink algorithm and data from the Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2026. The index analyses more than 40 parameters and covers over 1,500 cities and 120 countries worldwide.
Key figures on Ukraine’s startup ecosystem from this year’s report:
- Ukraine ranks 43rd globally and 8th in Eastern Europe in the global startup ecosystem ranking.
- Ukraine’s web development sector ranks 3rd in Eastern Europe.
- Kyiv ranks 74th globally and 5th among cities in Eastern Europe.
- Kyiv ranks 18th among European cities and 9th in Europe in the Ecosystem Visibility category.
- Lviv recorded growth of 35.6%, the highest rate among Ukraine’s major cities.
- Dnipro recorded growth of 228.2%, placing it 4th in the national ranking.
For Ukraine’s innovation ecosystem, the StartupBlink award demonstrates the ability of Ukrainian technology teams to create competitive products and scale globally even under extremely challenging conditions.
