Supernova Airlines successfully conducted a technical flight from China to Lithuania.

Last week, a Boeing 737-800 from the fleet of Supernova Airlines, a part of the NOVA group (owned by Nova Poshta), performed a technical flight from Guangzhou, China, to Vilnius, Lithuania, with a technical stopover at Tashkent Airport.

Vyacheslav Klymov, co-founder of Nova Poshta, disclosed this information during a forum for entrepreneurs organized by Forbes Ukraine in Kyiv. He clarified that this flight did not carry cargo and should not be considered the beginning of full commercial operations for SuperNova Airlines.

Klymov emphasized that the airline is preparing for commercial cargo flights, but the preparation process is complex and time-consuming. He did not specify a definitive timeline for the start of commercial operations but did not rule out the possibility by the end of the year.

Earlier reports indicated that Supernova Airlines had launched its first route from Riga to Žeshuva in cooperation with Latvian airline RAF-Avia, using their ATR 72 aircraft. The company highlighted that air transport saves up to 36 hours compared to truck deliveries between Riga and other destinations.

Additionally, Supernova Airlines has long-term plans to expand its fleet by acquiring cargo versions of modern Boeing or Airbus aircraft. The airline received its Ukrainian operator certificate on January 6, 2023, paving the way for the commencement of cargo flights.
