During his visit to Kyiv this week, Sweden's Civil Defense Minister Karl-Oskar Bolin announced a new aid package of 100 million Swedish kronor (approximately $9.33 million) aimed at enhancing civil protection in Ukraine.
This was reported by the Swedish government on November 5.
As part of the visit, Bolin signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ukraine's Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, presenting the new civil support package for Ukraine. The package includes two patrol vessels, 24 passenger cars, a minibus, a weight transporter, and personal protective equipment provided by the Swedish Coast Guard, along with 40,000 protective masks with filters that will be procured for Ukraine.
The package still requires approval from the Swedish government and is funded under a three-year financial program for Ukraine totaling 75 billion Swedish kronor, a decision made by the Swedish government in May 2024.
Additionally, under the Memorandum, the Swedish Coast Guard will collaborate with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service in areas of experience exchange and training.
"Sweden will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary," emphasized the Swedish Civil Defense Minister in Kyiv.
