Switzerland has decided to join the 13th package of sanctions imposed by the European Union against Russia.

This information was reported by the Swiss government.

The Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER), responsible for sanctions, on February 29 made a decision to impose additional sanctions against Russia.

Thus, Switzerland joins the 13th package of sanctions of the European Union, adopted in response to Russia's ongoing military aggression against Ukraine over the past two years.

It is noted that EAER followed suit on February 29, expanding Swiss sanction lists under its jurisdiction, including 106 individuals and 88 legal entities and organizations.

The sanctions once again targeted individuals, legal entities, and organizations primarily involved in Russia's military-industrial complex and engaged in the production of missiles, drones, anti-aircraft missile systems, and other military equipment.

The new lists also target Russian companies and individuals involved in supplying defense technology to Russia from North Korea. Sanctions have also been applied to "judges" and "officials" from the occupied territories of Ukraine, as well as individuals and organizations involved in the forced displacement of Ukrainian children.

Additional trade sanctions have been introduced to further hinder Russia's ability to purchase sensitive goods and technologies for its military. These measures add 27 entities to the export ban on dual-use goods and goods that could contribute to Russia's military and technological development.

The list of restricted goods for export has also been expanded, now prohibiting the sale and export to Russia of components used in the design and production of drones.
