Due to the shelling of Kyiv in the morning of January 23, fires have started in parked cars, buildings, and apartments. In one of the apartments, an unexploded part of a missile was found. At the moment, there is information about 18 casualties.

This information is reported by the mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA).

Sviatoshyn district

Evacuation in progress as an unexploded missile part is found in an apartment

As Klitschko mentioned, in a residential building in the Sviatoshynskyi district, an unexploded warhead of a missile was discovered in one of the apartments.

"The evacuation of people from the building is underway," Klitschko stated.

As a result of the missile strike, according to KCSA, in the Sviatoshyn district:

  • Fires in parked cars have been recorded;
  • Preliminary damage to a kindergarten is reported;
  • Preliminary damage to one building is reported.

"We already know about one injured person. The information is being clarified. Emergency services are on the way. Air raid alert is ongoing. Stay in shelters!" - added the administration.

Later, KCSA mentioned that the information regarding damage to the kindergarten in the Sviatoshyn district was not confirmed, but cars near the kindergarten caught fire.

Another incident

Additionally, according to Klitschko, in the Sviatoshynskyi district, another apartment is on fire.

"As a result of debris falling in the building, balconies from the 1st to the 5th floor are damaged. In the apartment where the fire occurred, one injured person was found," the mayor added.

Solomiansk district

As Klitschko explained, in the Solomianskyi district, a multi-apartment building had its windows blown out by the shockwave.

"At the moment, one injured person has been hospitalized by medics in the Solomiansk district," he added.

Additionally, Klitschko reported on fires in several apartments of a residential building in the same district.

Furthermore, it is currently known that in the Solomiansk district, there was the destruction of a two-story non-residential building without a fire.

Pechersk district

According to Klitschko, in the Pecherskyi district, there was an impact on a non-residential building.

"Emergency service units are heading to the scene," he added.

Later, Klitschko revealed that in the Pechersk district, where there was an impact on a non-residential building, one injured person was found. Emergency services continue to extinguish the fire.

Darnytsadistrict

In the Darnytsa district, debris fell on the roof of a multi-story residential building and on the territory of a kindergarten.

"No information about casualties has been received. The data is being clarified," noted KCSA.

Stadium "Lokomotiv" in Kyiv was damaged

As a result of the shelling, the sports complex "Ukrzaliznytsia" in Kyiv was damaged. One person was injured. Currently, explosive experts and the State Emergency Service are working at the scene.

"After the completion of rescue work, the scale of the damage will be assessed. Today's training is canceled," added in the statement from Ukrzaliznytsia.
