On the night of February 28, 2025 (starting at 19:00 on February 27), the Russian forces launched an attack with 208 strike drones of the Shahed type and various decoy UAVs from the directions of Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.
The air assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
As of 09:00, 107 Shahed strike drones and other UAVs were confirmed shot down over the regions of Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv.
Additionally, 97 decoy drones were lost by location without causing harm.
As a result of the attack, Kharkiv, Sumy, Mykolaiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions suffered damage.
