The European Union will provide Moldova with equipment to intercept drones.
This was announced by the EU ambassador to Chisinau, Janis Mazeiks, in an interview with Radio Moldova.
He stated that the decision was made in Brussels, but added that the delivery of equipment will take time. Mazeiks could not specify an exact date but noted that the equipment would not arrive in Moldova before 2025.
"If this equipment reaches the Republic of Moldova, it will help prevent situations where drones cross the border and enter Moldovan territory," Mazeiks emphasized.
Currently, it is unknown what kind of equipment is being referred to. It could include electronic warfare (EW) systems or other types of equipment.
