The first armored ambulance, purchased by 'Medical Procurements of Ukraine' with funds raised as part of the UNITED24 initiative (worth UAH 9,532,000), has already arrived in Ukraine.

A total of 13 such 'ambulances' have been purchased, with a total cost of  UAH 124 million.

These vehicles are designed for evacuating the wounded by medical personnel from the front line to the nearest medical facility. Each vehicle is armored and meets NATO ballistic standards, specifically STANAG 4569 Level II.

Among the features of the transport are the tires. One of their characteristics is that they can be driven flat: in case of pressure loss, thanks to a special tire construction, the speed varies from 50 to 150 km/h (depending on the vehicle's weight and road quality). In practice, this means that if a tire is punctured by shrapnel, the 'ambulance' won't be stranded in an open field under fire. Additionally, these vehicles are all-wheel drive and can traverse rough, war-damaged roads.

Incidentally, the armored 'ambulances' were custom-made in Canada. As soon as the other vehicles from the batch are ready, they will be transported to Ukraine.

'Today, thanks to President Volodymyr Zelensky's UNITED24 fundraising initiative, Ukraine has received the first armored ambulance for evacuating the wounded. A total of 13 of them have been purchased. I want to thank everyone who supports us during this full-scale war. Your donations are important. They quite literally save the lives of Ukrainians. The armored 'ambulances' will allow us to do this even more effectively by evacuating the wounded from the hottest frontlines. In general, the number of such vehicles in the world is very limited, so we had to make them to order,' says Minister of Health Viktor Liashko.

It's worth noting that an additional 15 ambulances, purchased with funds collected as part of the UNITED24 initiative, have been sent to emergency care and disaster medicine centers in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Lviv, Volyn, and Chernivtsi regions.
