The first ship with Ukrainian corn arrived in Istanbul. There, it must be inspected by Russian and Ukrainian officials, after which the ship will sail to Lebanon.

This was announced by the Ministry of Defense of Turkey and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

Turkey emphasized that the ship would be inspected by a general control group, which includes Russian and Ukrainian officials. The coordination center in Istanbul will be responsible for the inspection.

In his traditional address to Ukrainians, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky said that now it is important to restore Ukrainian agricultural exports. Russia used the impossibility of transporting Ukrainian grain as a weapon, provoking a food crisis in the world.

"Today, the first ship with Ukrainian grain arrived at the Bosphorus… Our goal now is to ensure regularity in this process. Much has already been saying about why it is important to restore Ukrainian agricultural exports. I will add just one detail. Exports this year are needed so that our farmers and agricultural companies had a sufficient resources for next year's sowing. This is a matter of food security for our country as well - next year is now ensured… Russia provoked the food crisis to use the supply of wheat, corn, oil as a weapon… Of course, we understand, from who are we dealing with? And in Russia, they understand that they are losing one of the opportunities to terrorize the world. But when the world is united, when partners fulfill their commitments, the necessary result can be achieved," the president said.
