During the recent International Defense Industry Exhibition MSPO in Poland, several events aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities were held. Among these was the First Ukrainian-Polish Defense Industries Forum. The Ukrainian defense delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Defense Oleksandr Serhiy and included specialists from the Ground Forces and Air Forces. The delegation held numerous meetings with representatives of military departments from various countries and global defense corporations.
The forum included technical discussions with leading global manufacturers from the USA, Norway, Finland, France, Australia, the UK, Poland, and other countries. Deputy Minister Serhiy thanked allies for their substantial support in the fight against Russian aggression and outlined urgent needs for the Ukrainian Defense Forces to enhance their capabilities on land and in the air. Key priorities included air defense systems, various types of drones, electronic warfare tools, ammunition, and components for domestic production. Discussions also covered the organization of repairs for foreign weapons and military equipment in Ukraine.
Deputy Minister Serhiy reported that many partners assured continued support for Ukraine in the war with Russia. Agreements on cooperation in the field of armaments with Norway and Canada were discussed. He emphasized the need for increased efforts to meet the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and implement long-term support projects.
Given the situation on the front lines, significant weapon production at Russian military factories, and arms supplies to Russia from North Korea and Iran, Ukraine needs to significantly enhance its defense capabilities. A strong response from the Ukrainian military and crucial decisions by allies are necessary to stop Russian terror.
According to allies, Russia’s war against Ukraine represents the greatest challenge to contemporary security policy. Russia’s continued aggression not only threatens Ukraine but also poses a broader threat. Consolidating efforts among democratic countries and increasing military aid to Ukraine is crucial given current threats. To strengthen the Ukrainian military, allies are urged to establish joint military enterprises and purchase weapons from Ukrainian manufacturers. Every euro invested in Ukrainian defense enterprises is an investment in European security.
