The Foreign Affairs Committee of the Spanish Parliament has approved a resolution calling for the recognition of the 1932-33 Holodomor as a genocide of the Ukrainian people.

During the vote, 29 members of the parliamentary committee supported the document, 4 voted against it, and 1 abstained.
The resolution urges the Spanish government to recognize the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine as an act of genocide and to publicly honor the memory of its victims.
Additionally, the committee called on the Spanish government to "resolutely and clearly" condemn Russia's invasion of Ukraine, demand an immediate cessation of this military aggression, and support the provision of material resources, including military, logistical support, training, and exercises that Spain can provide in coordination with European and international partners for the legitimate defense of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The document also demands the recognition and condemnation of the forced displacement and deportation of Ukrainian minors and cooperation with other international partners to ensure their return to Ukraine.
Currently, 29 countries worldwide have recognized the 1932-1933 Holodomor as a genocide of the Ukrainian people.
