“The European Union supports just peace because the UN Charter must be the backbone of international law. We support President Zelenskyy’s Peace Formula, as well as the rules-based international order, and we firmly support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine”, Charles Michel, the President of the European Council, said.

“Dear Ukrainians, the EU is your home, and that’s why we are determined to support you for as long as it takes with more military, financial, and political support,” Charles Michel claimed.
Also, the speaker outlined the EU’s efforts to politically and economically isolate Russia, whose behavior provokes condemnation and poses a threat to the entire international community.
Charles Michel concluded his speech by thanking the servicemen and servicewomen of Ukraine for fighting not only for their country but also for the common future of a free and democratic Europe. He stated that the European Union must stand by Ukrainians in their struggle.

He emphasized the importance of transferring the conference results to the Second Global Peace Summit and restoring peace in Ukraine as soon as possible.

He drew the attention of the international community to the fact that Russia’s attempts to seize Ukrainian territories, including the Crimean Peninsula, are a systematic practice. He noted that this year, Ukraine commemorates the 80th anniversary of the deportation of the Crimean Tatars and almost 250 years since the first attempt by the Russian Empire to seize the Crimean Peninsula.
David Lammy also pointed out Russia’s crimes, noting that Russia has stolen almost 400,000 tons of grain looted in Ukraine through Crimean ports.

David Lammy assured that the UK will remain on the side of Ukraine and will help bring to justice all those involved in crimes against humanity committed by Russia in Ukraine.
