The Israeli police cyber unit, Lahav 433, has frozen the cryptocurrency accounts of Hamas. According to the Israeli police, Hamas had been using these accounts to collect funds on social media since last Saturday.

Lahav 433 collaborates with the country's Ministry of Defense, Shin Bet, and other intelligence agencies in efforts to block cryptocurrency channels used by terrorist organizations.

It's reported that the cryptocurrency exchange Binance cooperated with Israel in detecting and closing these accounts. Lahav 433 also worked with the British police to freeze an account held with Barclays Bank.

Lahav 433 is an Israeli organization dedicated to combating crime, often referred to as the "Israeli FBI." The unit was established on January 1, 2008, following the merger of five law enforcement agencies into one.

The unit investigates state crimes, corruption, as well as homicides and sexual violence.

The number four in its name refers to the four regional departments within the unit, and the number 33 signifies "Gideonites," a reference to "Mistarvim" units (counter-terrorism units operating undercover).
