The Ukrainian brand Bibliotheque de Parfum from Kharkiv will open its first boutique in Toronto, Canada.
This was shared with AIN by the team.
"In Canada, everything is strictly regulated by law, and every product must undergo testing and obtain the necessary documentation, which the Bibliotheque de Parfum team spent several months preparing," says the brand's founder, Laura Nekrasova.
Bibliotheque de Parfum is a Kharkiv-based niche fragrance brand, founded in 2019 by Lora Nekrasova. After the full-scale invasion, the brand relocated its production and team to Chernivtsi.
Laura Nekrasova explains that official registration, opening accounts, and finding and renting premises in Canada are nearly impossible without consultants. Registering the company with the help of an accredited accounting firm cost approximately $700.
"It is difficult to find and rent a property. It’s a real quest because in Canada, you need a realtor to handle all the communication with the property owner. To rent a property, you need to get references from three Canadian citizens, confirm the availability of funds for rent, and also show your bank statements and credit score," says the brand’s founder.
The brand is currently represented offline in beauty salons and concept stores in Poland, Germany, Austria, Italy, and over 30 other countries across Europe.
Earlier, in March 2024, as part of its business expansion in Europe, Bibliotheque de Parfum presented a limited-edition perfume collection "I am" at the Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2024 beauty and wellness exhibition in Italy. The collection was specially developed for the company by perfumer Fernanda Russo.
