Almost 115,000 tulips, gifted by the Kingdom of the Netherlands, will bloom in the spring in the capital. Traditionally, the main location remains Independence Square in Ukraine. Spring flowers can also be seen on Khreshchatyk, Landscape Alley, European Square, Taras Shevchenko Park, near the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and in other green areas of the city.

"It is very valuable that in such a challenging time for Ukraine, foreign friends have continued the tradition - once again, they have donated tulip bulbs of various varieties to Kyiv free of charge! Despite all the logistical difficulties this year, the city will bloom in spring with tens of thousands of Dutch flowers. I express my gratitude to the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Amsterdam, Emil de Sèvres Jacquet, for assistance, cooperation, and support at every stage. Flower compositions are our symbol of resilience and freedom. Our faith is in victory," said Yuriy Bakhmat, the CEO of Kyivzelenbud.

This year, 16 varieties of tulips were chosen for the capital of Ukraine, including Triumph Tulip "Charade," Triumph Tulip "Purple Raven," American Muscari, Peony-flowered Tulip "Negrita double," Dwarf Tulip "Yellow Baby," Triumph Tulip "Ozon," Triumph Tulip "Delta Graffity," Triumph Tulip "Ice lolly," and others.

"The main flowerbed on Independence Square will be blue and yellow, symbolizing the freedom of our nation," noted landscape designer Maria Volska from Kyivzelenbud.

The project is implemented at the initiative of the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Amsterdam, Emil de Sèvres Jacquet. Tulips were first planted in the capital of Ukraine in 2020 as a symbol of the Heavenly Hundred, in honor of the heroes and heroines of the Revolution of Dignity.
