The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has codified and authorized the use of a defensive fragmentation grenade—an equivalent to the Soviet F-1 grenade. This Ukrainian-produced ammunition meets the specifications for modern close combat weapons. Previously, such grenades were not manufactured in Ukraine.
The hand-held defensive fragmentation grenade is designed to target enemy personnel who are exposed in open positions. Due to its powerful effects, it should only be used from cover.
Additionally, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has codified and adopted a hand-held offensive grenade with remote action, similar to the Soviet RGD-5. Its serial production has already been established by a Ukrainian manufacturer.
