The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has called on the governments of NATO countries to enhance cooperation in defense innovations.
As it was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Deputy Minister of Defense for Digital Development Katerina Chernogorenko participated in a meeting of the Committee on Innovations and Hybrid Threats at NATO headquarters as part of the Ukraine-NATO Council.
She acquainted the committee members with the priorities of the Ministry of Defense in the field of innovations and cyber defense. Chernogorenko specifically drew attention to the technologies Ukraine needs to change the "rules of the game" on the battlefield.
"We urge engineering communities and governments to enhance cooperation in developing capabilities in the field of defense innovations, such as optical targeting systems or smart guided munitions for our UAVs. We call on the industry, engineering communities, and governments to strengthen cooperation in both developing capabilities in these areas and evaluating prospective technologies. We need to transform together to ensure the capabilities of our defense forces meet the requirements of the modern battlefield," emphasized Chernogorenko.
The Deputy Minister also mentioned the IT coalition, drone coalition, and electronic warfare (EW) coalition, inviting member countries of the Committee to join these initiatives. She stated that the Ministry of Defense is ready to contribute to the development of the Ukraine-NATO Roadmap for cooperation in the field of innovations.
"The Ministry of Defense is interested in holding a joint innovation event Ukraine-NATO involving the ecosystems of Ukraine and the Alliance. Such an event will establish ties between Ukraine and our partners, leading to the joint development of capabilities, exchange of experience, or gaining access to new technologies for our defense forces," noted Chernogorenko.
