The Netherlands has handed over three field hospitals and six medical evacuation vehicles to the border guards

Ukrainian border guards have received three modular Field Hospitals (Role 2) and six medical evacuation vehicles, Toyota Land Cruiser, as announced by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine on December 1.

The medical equipment and supplies were delivered to Ukraine by the Dutch manufacturer Hospitainer under the government program aimed at enhancing the medical capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the ongoing Russian aggression.

The State Border Guard Service emphasized that the partners are continually improving the equipment of mobile medical support complexes, taking into account the real conditions of their use.

The three modules of the mobile Role 2 hospitals, delivered this time (on 9 trucks and 6 trailers), are more adapted for use in the cold season, with expanded capabilities for accommodating medical personnel and patients.

The mobile enhanced Role 2 complexes include:

• 36 beds
• Active ventilation
• Winter-adapted water supply
• Medical personnel block
• Can be used as a stabilization point

"This specialized medical equipment has expanded functions, namely an increased number of beds. Additionally, a crucial technical component is the inclusion of new air conditioners with active ventilation, which was not present in previous models. Another new and important element is the medical personnel block. Moreover, the enhanced mobile hospital can be used as a stabilization point, which is extremely important in providing medical assistance to preserve the golden hour of a patient's life," noted Dmitry Laitan, the chief of the clinic at one of the State Border Guard Service hospitals.

It is worth emphasizing that in addition to this assistance, since July 2023, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has received from the Government of the Netherlands and Hospitainer company:

• 18 Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles,
• 10 modular Field Hospitals (Role 1),
• 5 modular Field Hospitals (Role 2),
• 5 refrigerated vehicles,
• 1 dental module,
• Nearly 90 cubic meters of medical consumables.

"This time, we delivered three enhanced modular Field Hospitals (Role 2), specifically adding more beds and a tent for the personnel's living area. This Role also includes a water supply system, including showers. We improved the gateways, making the transitions between tents more reliable and durable. In addition, in these modules, the water supply system is adapted for the winter period," emphasized the representative of Hospitainer.
