The number of Russian attacks in the Chernihiv region has increased significantly recently, while previously the most strikes occurred in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

This was reported on air by Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service.

"Attacks are not decreasing – on the contrary, the Russian forces are increasing the number of strikes using various means along Ukraine’s border in Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions. Recently, the number of attacks in Chernihiv has risen significantly, because previously most strikes occurred in Sumy and Kharkiv regions," he said.

Demchenko noted that this year the Russians have significantly intensified the use of drones, including for dropping munitions, fiber-optic drones, and FPV drones.

At the same time, the spokesperson mentioned that in the Vovchansk direction, where border guard units hold defensive lines, Russian forces activity has somewhat decreased recently. However, the Russians continue attempts to advance deeper into Ukrainian territory.

"The situation is most difficult in the Kupiansk direction. The enemy continues assault operations with infantry groups in the Lyman and Pokrovsk directions. In the latter two, the Russians periodically use armored vehicles, trying to carry out larger-scale attacks," he said.

Demchenko emphasized that the Defense Forces are actively countering the Russian forces in these areas, destroying their equipment and personnel.
