The Paris Region of France will help in the restoration of Kyiv and Chernihiv region
The French region of Île-de-France will support the restoration of Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the President of the Regional Council of Île-de-France Valérie Pécresse spoke about this during the meeting in Kyiv.
As Denys Shmyhal emphasized, the regional principle should become a key element of the future Ukraine Recovery Plan.
"We are grateful for the readiness of your region to help in the restoration of Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. We intend to pay special attention to the development of small and medium-sized businesses, because this will contribute to the creation of new jobs and will revitalize the economy as well. I am convinced that the cooperation between our regions will be extremely productive," said the Head of the Government.
Ms Valérie Pécresse has positively assessed the prospect of direct partnership relations between the regions. According to her, this direction can mobilize French cities and municipalities that are interested in helping Ukraine in post-war reconstruction. The President of the Ile-de-France Regional Council noted that during her visit to Ukraine, she planned to identify specific projects that the parties would develop.
