The Ukrvynprom Corporation, together with the Ukrainian Sommelier Association, has announced the participants for the 2024 Ambassador Wines selection for La Cité du Vin, the largest global center for cultural wine heritage, located in Bordeaux, France.
The list includes over 70 wine samples from the following Ukrainian producers:

Wines that receive the status of official country ambassadors become part of the La Cité du Vin collection, which is the world's largest wine museum. They are offered for tasting to visitors and featured at prestigious special events. For instance, the winners of the 2023 selection were presented under the patronage of French President Emmanuel Macron at the annual Wine Paris and Vinexpo Paris exhibitions at the Sorbonne University and at numerous diplomatic events.
Following the selection, a collection of 21 Ukrainian wine samples that will receive the Ukrainian Wine Ambassador 2024 status will be handed over to La Cité du Vin.
As noted by the General Director of Ukrvynprom Corporation, Volodymyr Kucherenko, there are many worthy examples of Ukrainian winemaking among the competitors, making the competition for the status of official ambassadors intense.
“In recent years, the competitiveness of Ukrainian winemaking has increased. Considering this and the 'blind tasting' of the selection participants, the competition for the status of official ambassadors of Ukraine in La Cité du Vin will be fierce and fair. We look forward to the evaluation of Ukrainian wines by experts and the selection of winners,” he commented on the list of participants.
Since its opening on June 1, 2016, the Center for World Cultural Wine Heritage, La Cité du Vin, has become a significant social landmark for both French citizens and tourists. Each year, it welcomes approximately 500,000 visitors from 180 different nationalities, as well as over a thousand French and foreign journalists. The center is also a popular venue for prestigious private events, with around 400 held annually.
Wines selected by the official partner (in Ukraine, this is the Ukrvynprom Corporation) are exhibited in various sections of the museum and presented during different events, with separate wine tastings organized by country of origin. Each visitor with an admission ticket for one museum tour can choose 15 samples from the collection of the best wines in the world, with the list regularly updated.
