Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy received the credentials of the newly appointed ambassadors of Sri Lanka and Guatemala to Ukraine (also accredited to Ukraine).

The President congratulated them on the beginning of their diplomatic missions in Ukraine and expressed hope for the activation of cooperation between the countries.

During his conversation with the Ambassador of Sri Lanka, the President noted that Ukraine is holding constructive negotiations with the United States and is ready to do everything possible to achieve peace as soon as possible. Our country has proposed steps that would lay the necessary foundation for further negotiations and expects support for this position from other states.

"We would be grateful to Sri Lanka for more active support in ensuring a just and lasting peace in Ukraine based on the UN Charter and international law," emphasized Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

 

The President also mentioned that Ukraine is interested in developing bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade, education, food security, and medical rehabilitation.

In his conversation with the Ambassador of Guatemala, the Head of State thanked the country and its President Bernardo Arévalo for their consistent stance in supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine expects the development of friendly bilateral relations. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in education and science, as well as sharing experiences in the digitalization of government services. Special attention was given to continuing collaboration in the field of demining. The President also announced plans to open the Embassy of Ukraine in Guatemala in the near future.

 

 

The Ambassadors of Sri Lanka and Guatemala expressed that their peoples sincerely wish for peace for Ukraine.
