The Russian command has transferred several battalions of a newly formed motorized rifle regiment to the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
This was stated by the Southern Defense Forces spokesperson Vladyslav Voloshyn in a comment to Ukrinform.
“Recently, the enemy has been trying to replenish its personnel losses, so a certain number of forces and equipment are brought in to replace units that have suffered losses. According to our intelligence, last week the enemy transferred a newly formed motorized rifle regiment here. This regiment was created from scratch, following Putin’s order to increase the mobilization resource by 30,000. This is a brand new military unit formed in the settlement of Khankala in Chechnya. Now, several battalions have arrived here in multiple echelons. They have already reached the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions and will soon join the units conducting assault operations,” Voloshyn said.
He added that last week, the enemy also conducted a rotation on the Tendra and Kinburn spits.
“The enemy rotated and replaced the well-known 10th Cossack reconnaissance-assault brigade ‘Don’ with two battalions of their airborne assault troops from an airborne assault brigade. Why did they replace the Cossacks? Because it was formed from various mobilized volunteers with low morale and combat readiness. The enemy feared losing the Kinburn and Tendra spits, so they replaced them. In the near future, the ‘Don’ brigade will undergo restoration and reorganization, and we expect to defeat it in upcoming assaults. It did not fulfill its tasks on the Tendra spit,” the spokesperson noted.
