The situation along the northern border remains stable and under control. However, in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions along the border, there have been reports of shelling. Colonel Yuriy Povkh, the spokesperson for the Unified Press Center of the Northern Direction Defense Forces, provided this information during the live broadcast of the "Yedyni Novyny" telethon.

"The enemy's activity has not seen significant changes. The enemy continues to mine the border and maintains around 19,000 military personnel on their side of the border. It's important to note that these forces belong to the Russian Federation."

Yuriy Povkh also noted that the enemy's actions may indicate potential preparations for the passage of sabotage groups into Ukrainian territory.

"Sabotage breakthroughs typically occur with the enemy's artillery support. In this way, the enemy tries to suppress our forces to allow reconnaissance and sabotage groups to pass through. The most recent attempt was unsuccessful for the Russians and was halted before reaching its goal. Therefore, we must maintain a military contingent to defend the state border," said Povkh.

Regarding the border with Belarus, the spokesperson emphasized that Russian forces are currently present there in small numbers, primarily for the logistical support of units. They do not pose a threat to the Ukrainian border.
