The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council: We need to transition from requests for assistance to proposals for cooperation

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksandr Lytvynenko, believes that it is necessary to engage more actively with the societies of partner countries.

"We need to broaden our approaches. As the President has emphasized many times, it is very important for us to work not only with governments but also with society. It is crucial for us to work with various interest groups, experts, and journalists," he said in an exclusive interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council also believes that Ukraine "should transition from requesting assistance to proposing cooperation, mutually beneficial cooperation. Moreover, we have a lot to offer our partners. Besides being a key donor in the security sphere in Europe."

"What we receive in terms of weaponry is not charity. Ukraine is one of the world's largest laboratories in terms of employing new forms and methods of armed combat, tactics, and new systems. This is invaluable combat experience," he said.

"The Ukrainian army, Ukrainian special services—they are the only structures in the world participating in a conflict of quite high intensity, the most significant in the last 40 years," noted Lytvynenko.
