The Security Service of Ukraine detained two accomplices of Russian intelligence services who were spying on Ukraine’s Defense Forces in central and western regions.

In Cherkasy region, the SSU prevented new attempts by Russia to obtain up-to-date data on the Defense Forces. A 20-year-old resident of Radiviliv was arrested for spying on Ukrainian Armed Forces units moving toward the front through western Ukraine.

The suspect recorded approximate numbers and tactical characteristics of military equipment when detecting military convoys. Additionally, under the pretext of visiting relatives, he traveled to Lviv region, where he attempted to locate operational airfields. In exchange for cooperation, the Russian forces promised him "evacuation" to Russia and a Russian passport.

In Poltava, a 58-year-old local woman was detained for coordinating Russian missile and drone attacks on the regional center. To enable strikes beyond the range of Ukraine’s air defense, she scouted locations of radar stations near the city. She also monitored the aftermath of Russian strikes.

During searches, the SSU seized mobile phones containing evidence of their collaboration with Russian intelligence.

The suspects are in custody and face up to 8 years in prison.
