The Security Service has detained another coordinator of missile and bomb strikes by Russia on Kharkiv. The perpetrator attempted to identify the locations of the Kraken special unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Based on the information provided by the suspect, the Russians hoped to deliver fire strikes on these objects. To carry out the attack, the aggressors planned to use ballistic missiles and guided aviation bombs of the GAB-500 type. To guide them to the target, the enemy coordinator engaged in a session of encrypted communication with his curator from the Russian intelligence and transmitted coordinates to him.

The Security Service detained him at his own residence.

Same time, comprehensive measures were taken to protect the city's infrastructure from a new aerial attack by the aggressor country. The detainee's mobile phone, which he used to communicate with the Russian special services, was seized.

According to the investigation, the Russian agents accomplice turned out to be a local resident, an ideological supporter of racism. In early April of this year, the Russian forces involved him in cooperation through social networks, where he published his own anti-Ukrainian comments. To gather intelligence, the suspect surveyed the city's territory and tracked the locations of the Defense Forces. Also, the perpetrator covertly extracted the necessary information from clients of a local shopping and entertainment center where he worked as a salesman.

Based on the collected evidence, the Security Service investigators informed the suspect of the suspicion under Part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the movement or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, if possible to identify them in the area).

Currently, the perpetrator is in custody. He faces up to 8 years in prison.

The special operation was conducted by the Security Service employees in the Kharkiv region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
