The Security Service detained another informant for the FSB in Zaporizhzhia.

The perpetrator tracked the intensity of movement and the approximate number of military echelons of the Ukrainian Armed Forces heading towards the front line. She paid particular attention to the movement of trains carrying heavy weaponry. Among her tasks was to identify the geolocation of repair bases of the Armed Forces near railway stations. The gathered intelligence was needed by the Russian forces for planning combat operations at the front line and preparing air strikes on objects of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Ukrzaliznytsia.

To carry out the hostile task, the FSB informant walked around the area near the railway tracks, observing traffic and recording the coordinates of possible repair bases of the Armed Forces. Additionally, she covertly used her acquaintances to discreetly gather information about the Ukrainian troops. The obtained intelligence was reflected as markings on Google maps with detailed descriptions of the "required" objects.

The SSU exposed the perpetrator at the initial stage of her criminal activity. The Ukrainian special service conducted comprehensive measures to safeguard the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and detained the perpetrator in her own residence. According to the investigation, the Russian forces engaged the woman in cooperation remotely. She came under the FSB's radar due to her anti-Ukrainian activity on social media. Further communication took place through an anonymous chat on a popular messaging app.

Based on the collected evidence, the Security Service investigators informed the detainee of the suspicion under Part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the movement, transportation, or location of the Armed Forces with the possibility of their identification on the ground). The perpetrator is in custody and faces up to 8 years in prison.
