The Swiss Parliament supported the initiative recognizing the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as a genocide against the Ukrainian people. This step is significant.

This was reported by the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, on Facebook.

"I am grateful to the Swiss Parliament for recognizing the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as a genocide against the Ukrainian people," Stefanchuk noted.

According to him, in the statement adopted by the Swiss National Council, systematic actions aimed at the mass and targeted killing by hunger with the intent to destroy a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group are recognized as acts of genocide.

He emphasized that this decision is historic and extremely important on the path to restoring historical justice and preserving the memory of innocent victims.

It should be noted that several countries have already recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as a genocide against the Ukrainian people.
