The Ukrainian team Mriya-2006 became the winner of the Women's World Champions Cup 2023 in beach soccer held in Italy.
Our athletes won all four matches in the tournament. They first defeated the Dutch team BSZ Ladies (2:1) and the Salvadoran team Barra de Santiago (7:4) in the group stage.
Advancing from the first place to the semi-finals, the Ukrainian women defeated the Japanese team Lazo Apego (5:1). In the final showdown, coached by Yuriy Klymenko, they secured a determined victory over the Brazilian team Sao Pedro with a score of 5:3.
In the men's category of the World Champions Cup 2023, representatives of Ukraine, Arthur Muzik, and Vybir also participated. Due to the draw, these two teams faced each other in the round of 16, with Arthur Muzik emerging victorious with a score of 6:4. In the semi-finals, the Ukrainians were defeated by the Latvian team Riga (3:5) and ultimately finished 7th in the tournament. In the final consolation match of the playoffs, they defeated the Spanish team Huelva with a score of 5:2.
