Ukrainians affected by the war and suffering severe burns are being treated in clinics in the United States. Thanks to close cooperation with the Ministry of Health, the United States is ready to continue accepting Ukrainian citizens for treatment. The Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko announced this following a meeting with the US Secretary of State for Global Health in the US Department of Health and Human Resources Lois Pace, which took place during the 75th session of the World Health Assembly.
"In recent years, with the US government's support, including the expert, we have managed to make qualitative changes for the health care system. Today, we can confidently say that during the three months of the war, the support of Ukraine from the United States of America has strengthened many times over. We receive numerous humanitarian shipments from the US government and NGOs almost every week," said the Minister of Health of Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the war, the United States has been one of the first to provide humanitarian support to the health sector, sending to Ukraine shipments of drugs, consumables, and equipment that are currently used in frontline and frontline hospitals.
According to Viktor Lyashko, the projects that operated in Ukraine with the US government's support will be continued. The active implementation of new projects in health care at the request of our country is also discussed.
