The waste processing plant on Plastova Street in Lviv is currently 80% complete. It is planned to be operational by the end of this year. This was stated by the city mayor Andriy Sadovyi in a report on the YouTube channel of the Lviv City Council.

At present, the building for the future plant is constructed, though some rooms are missing roofs or floors. Construction is expected to be finished by June, after which equipment installation will begin. Part of the equipment has already been delivered.

"45% of the equipment has already been delivered. The equipment is already manufactured. Our experts physically saw it in Turkey. It will gradually be brought here. Once the physical work on the site is completed, equipment installation will start. This plant should begin operating this year. It will be the first plant in Ukraine," said Andriy Sadovyi.

The mayor expressed hope that the plant will start working this year. He, along with officials from the Lviv communal enterprise "Zelenе Misto," which is managing the project, emphasized that all necessary steps have been taken for the timely completion of the project. However, they expressed concerns about the pace of work by the contractor.

The site has already received scrubbers for air purification, fans for biosolid drying chambers, aeration equipment for plant chambers, conveyor lines for the mechanical part of the plant, and air dust suppression equipment. According to "Lviv Portal," the "Zelenе Misto" company is currently working on the organizational structure of the plant, training management, and adopting the best practices from European and Turkish enterprises. The next step will be recruiting staff.
