The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (Zaporizhzhia NPP) found itself on the verge of a blackout for the second time within a day. Occupiers damaged the power line feeding the station, but everything has since been restored.
This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.
"For the second time within a day, the Zaporizhzhia NPP remained on a single power line. Last night, due to shelling, a 330 kV power transmission line was de-energized, resulting in the shutdown of an additional power supply scheme for the station," the statement said.
As of this morning, the ministry reports that the line has been restored, and the Zaporizhzhia NPP's power needs are being met in full.
Recall that after the massive shelling of Ukraine on March 22, which was an unprecedented attack on the country's energy sector in recent times, the 750 kV "Dniprovska" line, which supplies power to the Zaporizhzhia NPP, was de-energized. The station was on the brink of a blackout for several hours before restoration, relying solely on a single power line.
Additionally, the DniproHES came under attack, including one rocket hitting a trolleybus passing through the dam, resulting in the death of the driver. There were no passengers aboard the electric transport at the time. In total, the aggressors fired 8 rockets at the station, two of which were direct hits.
