This year, Lithuania will allocate €1.2 billion to the EU Support Fund for Ukraine to purchase ammunition and military equipment. Additionally, Lithuania will help improve the security system in Ukrainian schools, with the government allocating €400,000 for this purpose.

Lithuanian Minister of Internal Affairs Agne Bilotaite announced this at a press briefing in Lviv.

"Both the government institutions and the people of Lithuania understand the importance of providing assistance to Ukraine. We are ready to provide support in both military and civilian spheres, as we realize that you are currently fighting for us. We would like to emphasize that, although we are a small country with a population of three million, the amount of assistance we provide reaches €1.2 billion. We will make every effort to continue supporting you and will stand with you until victory," said Bilotaite.

This concerns the country's contribution to the EU Support Fund for Ukraine, which was established to strengthen military assistance, with an allocation of €5 billion for the current year. These funds will be directed towards purchasing ammunition, military equipment, and gear for delivery to Ukraine, as well as continuing the training of Ukrainian servicemen.

Bilotaite emphasized that in addition to funds for military support, Lithuania actively continues the rehabilitation of Ukrainians affected by the war. Currently, 500 individuals have already received assistance, and the country is prepared to accommodate another 200.

"One of the important tasks currently on the agenda is the security of the Ukrainian educational environment. The Lithuanian government is ready to allocate €400,000 for the purchase and installation of metal detectors in educational institutions in Ukraine," added the minister.
