This year, the Czech Republic plans to train an additional 1,700 Ukrainian defenders as part of its assistance to Ukraine in the war with Russia.

This was announced by Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala during a briefing with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

"We are talking here about long-term training of Ukrainian military personnel. This year it will be 1,700 people. The total number of people who have undergone training with us is 6,000," said the head of the Czech government.

According to him, such assistance is evidence of successful cooperation between Ukraine and the Czech Republic.

Fiala also specified that Ukraine and the Czech Republic will sign a bilateral security agreement. This will take place in London on Thursday, July 18, during the European Political Community summit.
