Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, Denys Shmyhal, announced the strengthening of defense cooperation with Germany, noting that a number of new important agreements with German partners worth more than €1.2 billion have been signed.

The head of the Defense Ministry reported this.

In particular, he said an agreement was signed on the long-term supply of spare parts for Patriot systems, which will allow Ukraine to repair, modernize, and restore existing systems more quickly.

The agreements also provide for the purchase of Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles worth €200 million.

“The supply of Ukrainian drones is a key priority for stopping the enemy’s offensive and increasing enemy losses,” Shmyhal added.

In addition, the agreements include the largest artillery project to produce 200 Bohdana self-propelled artillery systems on the new Zetros chassis, with a total value of €750 million, aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s artillery capabilities.

Another signed agreement concerns the joint production of Ukrainian Linza UAVs in cooperation between the Ukrainian company Frontline Robotics and the German company Quantum Systems under the Build with Ukraine initiative.

“These UAVs will enable the scaling up of tactical reconnaissance,” he emphasized.

According to the minister, contracts have also been signed to ensure the uninterrupted supply of the latest electronic warfare systems at the tactical level.

He also recalled that, thanks to agreements between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Germany has committed to allocate €11.5 billion in support of Ukraine next year.

“I am grateful to Defense Minister Boris Pistorius for announcing this important support during the Ramstein meeting. We particularly appreciate the transfer of the two promised Patriot systems and the ninth IRIS-T. This will help protect Ukrainian cities and strengthen European security,” Shmyhal said.
