President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone conversation with the Prime Minister of Portugal, Luís Montenegro.

The Ukrainian President thanked Portugal for all the support provided since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war. He specifically highlighted defense assistance and funding for the “Superhero Schools,” which allow Ukrainian children to continue their education while undergoing medical treatment.

The leaders discussed diplomatic efforts and the development of security guarantees. On Thursday, a meeting of the “willing coalition” will take place to review the prepared points for ensuring security.

Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that one of the main components of Ukraine’s security guarantees is its membership in the European Union. The leaders agreed that no division should be allowed between Ukraine and Moldova on this path.

They also discussed Portuguese business participation in Ukraine’s reconstruction and joint drone production. Zelensky and Montenegro agreed that their teams will work in detail on all available opportunities for cooperation. The President invited the Prime Minister of Portugal to visit Ukraine.

Luís Montenegro also shared information about the impact of major forest fires in Portugal. Ukraine expressed solidarity with the Portuguese people and reaffirmed its readiness to provide assistance.
