Ukraine and the European Union will hold a joint defense industry forum. It will take place on May 6th in Brussels.
This was reported by the press service of the European Commission.
The event will be attended by over 350 representatives of EU institutions, governments, European and Ukrainian defense industries, industry associations, key partner countries, and organizations.
Also present at the event will be EU High Representative Josep Borrell, Commissioner Thierry Breton, Belgian Minister of Defense Ludivine Dedonder, and Ukrainian Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin.
As explained by the European Commission, the goal of the forum is to strengthen cooperation between the EU and Ukraine in the defense industry sphere, as well as to assist Ukraine in priority areas where support is most needed. This includes air defense systems, ammunition, missiles, and drones.
The forum will also serve as the first step in implementing the European Defence Industrial Strategy (EDIS).
