The restructuring of Ukraine's state debt with the official creditors from the Group of Seven (G7) countries and the Paris Club will continue until the end of March 2027. This information was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

On December 21, the head of the ministry, Serhiy Marchenko, signed amendments to the Memorandum of Understanding on the suspension of payments on the official debt with the group of official creditors of Ukraine from the G7 countries and the Paris Club. This allows for the extension of the final date for bond redemption, as initially indicated in the memorandum signed on September 14, 2022. The deadline had been postponed by a term of 24 months.

The newly agreed-upon term, concluding at the end of March 2027, aligns with the completion of the current Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as stated by the Ministry of Finance.

Representatives from the governments of Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States are signatories to the memorandum. Marchenko expressed gratitude to the G7 partners "for understanding Ukraine's needs in times of war."

"The achievement of today's agreement on the review of debt obligations allows reducing the burden on the budget until the end of the IMF program and saving foreign exchange liquidity to ensure social spending," he stated.

The minister also added that this voluntary debt payment suspension is part of the international support package totaling $122 billion provided to Ukraine by its partners.
